A space for book and paper arts

The Society of Hermits studio was founded by Heather Peters in the Fall of 2017. She studied illustration at Art Center College of Design, and received a dual-thesis masters in Creative Writing and Book Art from Mills College in Oakland, California, and has held teaching appointments at San Diego State University and Occidental College, as well as teaching papermaking at Penland School of Craft. Previously she was employed by Magnolia Editions, where she worked as a papermaker and archivist.
